What is an online Food Hygiene Certification course?


A Food Hygiene Certification course introduces food safety and hygiene to food workers such as caterers, retailers and manufacturers. If you wish to work in hotels, cafes, bars, restaurants, kitchens, fast food chains, and catering in hospitals or schools, this course is the ideal training for you. There are lots of online course providers that offer Food Safety and Hygiene Certification course, from Level 1 to Level 3.
 Food Hygiene Certification courses must meet the UK/EU legal requirements, must match EDI & CIEH syllabus, must be accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and recognized by Local Authorities and Environmental Health Officers.
Most online courses for food hygiene take 2 to 6 hours to complete, depending on the type and level of course.  
There are 3 types of Food Hygiene Certification Courses:
Food Hygiene Certification course for Catering:
This course covers topics such as food poisoning, bacteriology, prevention of contamination, personal hygiene, premises & pest control, cleaning & disinfection, and the law. This course is designed to give students and professionals a basic awareness of good hygiene and safety issues, proper cooking and preparation, and handling food in catering settings.
Food Hygiene Certification course for Retailing:
This course covers the same topics as those in the Certification course for Catering. This course is intended for food professionals working in retail, for example, market stalls, farm shops, grocery stores, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, fish shops, wholesalers and delicatessens.
Food Hygiene Certification course for Manufacturing:
This course covers the same topics as those in the Certification course for Catering and Retailing. This course is designed to maintain food-safe environment, teach correct food handling, and familiarize the student with the different rules, policies and laws regarding food safety.
